PRACTICING IN A PANDEMIC: TELEHEALTH & CYBERSECURITY
Presented By:
Salvatore Volpe, M.D., FAAP FACP FHIMSS CHCQM
William Hassett, Esq., Fager Amsler Keller & Schoppmann, LLP

PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION
The rapid expansion of telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic has provided many benefits to both practitioners and their patients. However, the expansion of this technology also creates liability risks for physicians, including licensure issues, and increased risk of cyberattacks and other privacy issues. Join us as Dr. Salvatore Volpe and an attorney from Fager Amsler Keller & Schoppmann, LLP discuss the evolution of telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic, and address the various risks associated with this technology.

At the end of this presentation, the participant will be able to identify licensure issues associated with telehealth; discuss the relaxed telehealth requirements; learn how to obtain adequate informed consent for telehealth encounters; get strategies for lessening the risk of privacy breaches; and better understand how to mitigate the medical liability risks associated with telehealth.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This presentation is designed for Physicians, Office Practice Administrators/Managers, Office Practice Staff, Nurse Administrators, Nurse Practitioners, Nursing Staff, Staff Development, Physician Assistants, Marketing and IT staff.
